WHEREAS, pursuant to the Uniform District Election Law, the governing body of the San Benito County Water District, calls the election to be held on November 3, 1998, for the purpose of electing successors to the terms of office which will expire on November 27, 1998.

Section 1. Pursuant to Section 10002 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the San Benito County Water District hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Benito to permit the Clerk of the County to perform all necessary and required election services and conduct all phases of the election to be held in the County of San Benito on November 3, 1998 at which two members of the San Benito County Water District shall be elected;

Section 2. On presentation of a bill, therefore, the County of San Benito shall be reimbursed by San Benito County Water District in full, for all necessary expenses incurred in conducting said election;

Section 3. The San Benito County Water District has resolved that the candidate will pay the cost of the candidate’s statement. Said statement shall not exceed 200 words in length;

Section 4. Pursuant to provisions of Section 13307 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the candidate shall be required to pay costs estimated by the County Clerk of the County of San Benito at the time of filing nomination papers except as otherwise provided in Section 3;

Section 5. This election shall be consolidated with another election to be held totally or partially within the boundaries of this district;

Section 6. The Secretary of the San Benito County Water District is hereby authorized and directed to forward without delay to the Board of Supervisors and the County Clerk of the County of San Benito, each, a certified copy of this resolution.
