QUARTERLY INVESTMENT REPORT

 

QUARTER ENDING MARCH 31, 2000

                        

 

 

 

Investment Account Balances:

Investment account balances at market value as of March 31, 2000 totaled $17,207,875.78, those same investment account balances at market value as of December 31, 1999 were $15,778,486.14.  The yield at March 31, 2000 was 5.86%.

 

Portfolio Summary:

$13,386,993.39 is invested in the State of California Local Agency Investment Pool. The yield for the Quarter was 5.81%.

 

$1,053,052.21 is invested in Trusts managed by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. The balance consists of an Active Assets Money Trust with a market value of $999,198.35 and a yield of 5.60% and an Active Assets Government Security trust with a market value of  $53,853.86 and a yield of 5.29%.

 

$2,121,259.38 is invested in U. S. Treasury Securities and $339,218.00 in Federal Agency Securities managed by the District. The market value of the U. S. Treasury Securities is $2,108,652.00 with a yield of 6.21% and an unrealized gain of  $15,746.64. The market value of the Federal Agency Securities is $331,455.80 with a yield of 6.89% and an unrealized loss of $8,065.06.

 

$327,722.38 is invested in a Federated Treasury Obligation fund managed by State Street Bank.  The yield was 5.28%.                                                                                         

 

 

Liquidity Requirements:

Projected April 2000 through September 2000 operating expenses are $5000,000.00, projected capital expenditures $110,000.00, and debt service payments for principle and interest $561,256.25. The resulting total cash requirements for this six-month period is projected to be $1,171,256.25.                               

 

Assuming that there are no revenues generated from operations during this period, there are adequate liquid reserves available in the L.A.I.F. account to fund operating and maintenance costs of the District as well as capital expenditures and any debt service payments.
